Antigone is a woman with disregard of the rules. This takes the spotlight in Sophocles' play
Antigone.Antigone has lost not just one but both of her brothers in battle. Since one of her brothers, Polynices, left the city and came back to attack, Creon ordered that he be left unhonored.
Antigone must choose between following the rules and honoring her family. Antigone is willing to die for what she believes in.
This play, just like in
Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, a love is ruined by deaths before their time.
Although this
Antigone was written in a different time period than now, it is a moving story about a woman with enough will power to stand up for what she thinks is right. I highly recommend this story.
